Possible hacking attempt

Just a heads up.
Yesterday I got a message that I had used up all my attempts to login in with incorrect password. I had not attempted login but also I use “ remember me” feature so it could not have been me. Should anyone be offering you anything with my user name beware.
It’s fixed this morning so hoping all is well.

If you use TapaTalk then it was the app. Did the same for me...
I'm guessing they had some server issues yesterday and it continously kept trying to log you in

Keep in mind Pelican can have a breach. User names and passwords can be taken and used. There are enough scammers here that it's only a matter of time if it hasn't already happened.

I've received text messages from people I've PM'ed that were not them. That means their account is compromised and the 'hacker' is reading their PMs.

I will be changing my password today and I suggest you all do the same.

Yes, also note that pelican doesn't force redirection to https. Make sure you have the lock displayed on your browser url bar (indicating https). You can browse and even login with http which is clear text and can be captured by a bad guy.

I guess if someone had the password though, there wouldn't have been failed attempts to log in

Probably a bot or scammer trying to guess the password, or maybe the Tapatalk thing mentioned above.

Pete…..that was my conclusion…….Lots of concerns and possible scenarios posed here which shows the knowledge of users. I know changing passwords is supposed to be done but I know I am lazy about that.

Several issues over the last few weeks with the website, try resetting your device.
