WTB: 915 Gearbox
Looking for an aluminum 915 gearbox freshly rebuilt or a core for rebuild. Would also consider a magnesium 915 with electronic drive.

  I got this Carrera gear box for $4500 I got an SC trans. For $3500 Got a mid 70s mag 915 also for $2800 All open diff

I have a 915/61? Maybe it’s a 63 can’t remember. No ring and pinion but the rest consider it just a core. Maybe $2750? I am in Sacramento

Great advice thanks Efren. The last 915 I bought a couple months ago (rebuilt ‘86 and with a WaveTrac LSD) was $7500. Unfortunately things didn’t work out and the seller was gracious enough to give me a refund, I’d be happy to pay $8kish for a similar transmission. Equally I’d be happy to buy a core and rebuild it. It’s going to be paired with a 3.0L RSR race engine so I’m not interested in taking chances on an unknown second hand gearbox.

My shop can build you an SC trans with open diff for $8k. All rebuilt to work like new. We can add an lsd for parts and labor.
Mark I also have a rebuilt Carrera trans with factory cooler for $9,995.

I will have a nice one from an 86 next week. 130K on it. $4500. Also a 993 6 speed on the way in. 20K. Can be driven and tested.
