1974 RS/RSR 911/77 longblock

Hello to all the RS/RSR aficionados out there, after some lengthy research and help from
Allan Faragallah, and David Bouzaglou we have determined that we have is a 1974 3.0L RS long block motor basically new unstamped never run.

The engine was an assembled long block which we dismantled cleaned and inspected.

All these parts are unique to the 3.0L 1974 RS they made aprox. 55 RS and 55 RSR cars this is one of the extra engines that was made at that time.

List of parts is as follows.

Engine case 911 101 104 OR. New Unstamped Aluminum Case, believe to be RS or RSR

Heads 911 104 327 77 K1926b dated 11/73 New never run RS

Mahle pistons and Cylinders 93ZN1 RS New never run

Cam Towers 901 105 111 OR. 39mm with Spray bar RS or RSR

Cams 911 101 137 OR 901 105 104 OR. center lubed we believe 1 is RSR and 1 is 906

Crank 70.4 mm counterbalanced STD/STD 2.7 or 3.0L RS New.

Rods are polished 2.7 or 3.0L RS New.

To the best of our knowledge the 3.0L RS engines did not use titanium rods.

Engine is available for inspection at Westminster CA.

Wow, so if I'm not mistaken, the 3.0 RS/RSR had unique heads - similar to later 3.0 heads but with smaller combustion chamber. Some rare parts here.

I believe the RS and RSR had different heads and P/C the RSR had deeper chambered head to accommodate taller dome piston for higher compression, the street version "RS" had lower compression.

Is this stuff new or vapor blasted? Looks too clean to be NOS…

We had our specialist seal off all oil holes and mating surfaces clean these parts, he has been doing all our engines, transmissions, manifolds etc, have been using him for about 10 years with amazing results.

There are photos of this engine when I purchased it as a long block, and I would be happy to share them with any seriously interested party.

This is a mythical engine impossible to find in this condition I doubt there is another one on the planet.
