FS: 81-83 Complete CIS off running engine
Complete CIS off a running 83 SC 3.0 engine. Included is a plug and play setup for an 81-83 engine including the jetronic brain. Was removed last fall. Injectors, WUR, Fuel Distributor. Engine was running fine, but owner went to throttle body EFI.
$850

Curious as I have a 77 2.7S that had been hotrodded by a previous owner (Rockville Porsche/Audi) master mechanic. Getting ready to pull the engine and go through it, but was obviously rebuilt in the past, so hoping it just needs resealed and fuel system overhauled. I know the SC CIS system has larger runners, is it compatible or should I just clean up and overhaul my current CIS system? I am in Maryland, so hopefully not too far away.

On the US versions, only the 1978 and 1979 models have the larger intake runners (38mm). All other (US) SC models have the smaller (34mm) intake runners which are the same as your car originally came with.

@decisive1 so you are saying that the CIS system is basically the same for an 83 SC as my earlier 77 S?

No, they are similar, but not the same. The later versions use electronic controls as well as the straight mechanical system that the early K-jetronic systems used.

@dherr - im sure someone has used something similar at one time on here. Might want to check the forums. I do have everything to install it into your 77 if you go that route. Im up in Mt. Airy if you want to swing by and check it out.
