I have a perfect black original dash (on the outside) that came with my '76. I am stripping the car and when I went to look at the dash I found it to be tacked on with only light glue. There were no fasteners used. Therefor it poped off with no effort and I did not have to remove the windshield. Now my questions are on the underside of my dash the plastic fasteners are broken off. Can I buy these or repair them? Becasue we all know I don't need or want to go get a used or new dash over something so small$$$. Where can I get them if I can buy them. I was not sure if normal fasteners would work that you can pick up at NAPA. What kind of glue should I use to adhere the dash to the fastener? Also since I did not have to remove my windshield to remove the dash do I have to remove it to correctly reinstall it? Becasue the rubber weather stripping around the windshield is perfect also and I do not want to damage it when removing it. Thanks

Klober,
I can't answer your question, but you should try posting this in the 911 Technical Forum. I'm sure somebody will know.

I took a dash out of a 76 911 that did have the plastic clips on the underside, a lot of them fell off or broke in the process. So I am inherently interested in all of the answers that you get. But the one part of your question that I can answer is that my windshield had to come off to properly remove the dash pad because there was a set of small black screws that srewed an extension of the covering of the dash pad to the metal of the car. They screwed in from the top down into the car so there is no way to reach them without removing the windshield. Whether or not these screws are absolutely neccissary is unknown to me. Best of luck and if you get the plastic clips hope to God you never have to take them out back out.
