Bilstein Struts

Selling a pair of Bilstein struts that have had the spindle raised by 1 1/4 inches. They include bilstein inserts of unknown condition. Not sure what possessed someone to paint them silver. I have not used them. Asking $275 plus shipping

I have recieved these struts and they appear to be in great condition other than that they have been raised 1 1/2" not 1 1/4" so they won't work for me. If anyone can use them they are again for sale.
Thanks
Ian

Hi Steve,
I would think that you'd need 16's as 15's apparently won't fit.

I don't think they will work with 16s either. With 15s all you can raise them is 18mm (just under 3/4 inches). So with an extra 1/2 inch radius on 16s you could raise them 1 and 1/4 inches not 1.5.

Yes, I am looking. They are raised too much for 15' wheels, that's for sure. Steve Alacorn @ Johnson's says 17mm for 15's. You can add about 7mm for each one inch of wheel. I would suspect these might work with 17" wheels, maybe have to go 18 if it's really 1 1/2 inches, or approx 38mm.

Instead of drilling/milling out the weld in the holes of the spindle collar, some one cut the collar and slide the thing up. It's maybe not as good as the correct method of raising the spindle, but the welds look good. Someone could cut/grind those welds and slide the thing back down to the desired height, and put a bead around the collar/strut. That would be the modification to those struts...another mod would make it all look and maybe work to sloppily.

This is the area I'm talking about...notice the cut and weld of the mod, and also the hole where the mfg originally filled with a weld. Also, if you look at the other strut, you can see separation of the collar and strut...that's why I would suggest a bead around the collar.
