Gbox gearbox tools
We at Podium Porsche Motorsport Sweden have developed a toolsystem for a safe and easy removal and installation of the g50, 996 and 997 manual gearboxes. The system is developed for racing, but works just as well for ordinary services at your workshop. The biggest advantage the Gbox toolsystem has over conventional tools, is that one mechanic can do the whole work on his own with no heavy lifting and that it saves up to 50% of time compared to other tools we have tried.

It looks in your picture like you can remove the trans from the 996er while the engine remains in place. Is that possible?

You use a special engine support that holds the engine in place while you remove the gearbox. Check out the website above, there you can see what I`m talking about!
