Gunter, why not just go to Sears or the local HW store and get an SAE dial guage? With parts from the HW store, I even made my own Z-block that works better than the z-block sold for a lot more than I spent.

What Souk said. Dial gauges are fairly inexpensive. Just make sure you get the extension for the gauge.

Good point, guys.
I do have a Z-block.
Surprisingly, even though Canada is officially metric, you cannot get a metric dial indicator here without a big hassle.
The SAE inch indicators are available but, either have the wrong diameter to fit into the Z-block, or don't have an extension to reach the valve collar.
Without the extension, they are of no use.
I may end up buying the right stuff from Pelican and then sell it after the rebuild. The cam holder tool P9191 is almost a must, although one could risk holding back with a socket on the pulley. (And a small piece of wood between chain and cam sprocket) ????
90 ft-lb for the M12 is pretty tight.

You should get the cam holder tool. It's only used for about 1/2 hour during the rebuild, but it's worth the cost and efficiency...good luck man.
