Bad experience buying used wheels

I had a very bad experience buying used wheels from Stoosekmega. Posted for sale on 2/10/06

I purchased 4 turbo twist wheels. They were supposed to be hollow spoke. One turned out to be a solid spoke - 50% of the value of hollow spoke wheels. They were supposed to be straight. It turned out all four had damage and needed repair.

No compensation to cover costs from Stoosekmega. Your should be very carefull buying from this person.

Yes that's the thread. The guy said all wheels are true, not bent. Besides being 3 hollowspoke and one non hollowspoke AND, get this the 3 Hollowspokes were all bent, and the guy won't do anything about it. What a POS.

Not to defend the guy, but any chance they got bent during shipping? Although looking at the pics of the wheels in that thread with the big chips in them, it would be hard to imagine they would still be straight. Also., I don't believe all twists were hollow, I recall at one point Porsche stopped making them due to production issues, so there are some solid spokes ones out there.

My friends in the wheel straightening business say these wheels (hollow or sold) cannot be straightened if the bend is on the back side. They are worth something like $11 each as scrap metal.

I doubt they were damaged in shipping, just as 1 didn't turn into a non-hollowspoke during shipping. This is really just a bunch of ****, that someone would do that to someone else. Just goes to show that you really can't trust everyone.
