Parting out low milage Carrera engine Wow!
I finally took the plunge and decided to part out this excellent looking engine. It is a 1987 3.2L.
I originally bought a parts car intending to use this engine, but my projects went another direction. Not knowing the condition of the engine when I got it, I decided to tear it down. All I can say is: Wow. It looked dirty on the outside, but inside it was beautiful. The heads are still attached to the cam towers and the rockers and cams are in the tower as well. Basically the top end is still in one piece, although I can part it out if necessary. If you buy the cam's/heads/towers, I'll leave it all together so you get the rockers too and will sell for $1400 as 2 complete units. I cleaned up one piston and one head to check condition and was really impressed. These beauties are in fantastic shape. I am selling the following parts, basically the whole engine minus the crank and rods. If you need something not listed, make an offer! : Case: $1200 Sold Intake: $600 Sold Heads: $900 Sold Cams: $300 Sold Pistons/Cylinders: $600 cam towers: $250 Sold chain housings with carrera tensioners: $200 sale pending oil pump: $225 Sold Oil pump is from a different 3.2 engine and although the body of it is in good shape, the screen mesh got pushed in a bit. Intake is missing the air box and one or two other small pieces. Otherwise, it cleaned up very nicely. edit 8/11 to reduce cam and cam tower pricing.

Well, those went fast.
I still have the Pistons and Cylinders. Sale is pending on both the case and the chainboxes/tensioners. Still have misc parts. I forgot about the fan, housing and alternator. Many misc parts and I have some duplicates from other engines.

Just for information..please indicate if these are Mahle Nikasil pistons/cylinders... I see they have the characteristic 11 fins with vertical rib.....but that is never conclusive....

They are Mahle. I always get lucky and end up with Nikasil and Bilstein stuff on cars I get...

89trrbocabmike is first on the chainboxes/tensioners and is supposed to be sending payment today. I'll keep you guys in line as you requested them.
The spare fan I had has been spoken for. I have 2 sets of rockers left. Some valve covers. 2 intermediate shafts. The pistons and cylinders. another set of 3.2 cams sold as cores only. make some offers!!!
