Maybe I just should forget about this whole thing. It was supposed to be a birthday present.

Is that price for real?
When did this start happening? So much for a B-day present, lol. |

Not to be abusive but just why did you put this up here? Looks like some dope paid 4 or 5 times the normal price for the book. Scam?

That book brought a premium because it was signed by the authors. The book had a limited publication and only a few were signed. It wasn't a scam - a couple people "really" wanted the signed copy. I've seen them sell for $300-$400 (still expensive for a book)

Gents,
From what I have seen with RS cars the book price is not out of line.. Especially if the high bidder owns 911 360 0409. Especially consider that it is a signed and numbered volume. Not all of them are numbered and I don't believe that many are signed. I agree it is silly money but so are the prices paid for some questionable examples of 73 RS cars these days. For my money I would take one of Big Daddy's copies. In fact, they seem pretty cheap. That was the original price when it first came out. Just my 2c. John Rice |

Ok, that's cool. I can see 300 or so for a signed and perhaps treasured copy. I'm just looking for a reference for my library.

just so you know.. big daddys doesnt respond to email and all the phone numbers are disconnected.
all the books were numbered, 3000 english and 3000 german text, limited, and now out of print. the authors are also not planning to make more. i found them in german, but good luck on english version- luckily i found mine after an intensive search due to that auction. |

I had a hard time convincing myself that it was OK to pay ~ $250 for a book when I ordered my copy direct from the authors 3 or 4 years ago - but I went ahead anyway & got them both to sign it before they shipped it...

Andy,
Good for you to have your copy signed by the authors. I wish I had thought of that. The eBay auction result just blows me away.: confused: Guess I need to hunt the authors down and have them sign the NIB copy I have that matches the VIN of my car. ![]() Tom, I will keep you in mind if I run across a used copy for sale.

Clarification: Don't believe everything you read. Even if it is the publisher stating it. NOT ALL THE BOOKS ARE NUMBERED. Yes, that is what they said. But I purchased the very first copy I could get in the states. At that time a gent in San Francisco was distributing them via Motochron [I think it was called] and he numbered the book to my car and sold me a second unnumbered copy also. He stated he could match any vin I needed. I know things changed as the distribution evolved.
