WTB: MFI plastic air cleaner assy with cold start fuel lines installed

Going back to MFI. My aircleaner assy no longer has the cold start fuel lines in it. Nice once considered for purchase. Car is a 1971 911. Also looking for the wingnuts on the air cleaner.

Danke.

MFI 72-73 plastic air cleaner assy did not come with cold start fuel lines installed. The cold start is in the plastic stacks.
You should have the metal one for the '71 anyways....

Sorry guys but 6771911esses is correct.

71' E and S is a plastic box with cold start fuel lines in it. One year only and is rare. 71' T was also plastic but had no cold start fuel lines. I have one of each. They are similar to 72/73' but have the long snout like the earlier metal boxes. The snouts are also made of plastic.

70' and before are metal.

Thanks for the air cleaner info. I guess my '71 had the incorrect air cleaner.

There are LOTS of cases of running changes. Don't assume that you had the "wrong" part on your car just because it's different than others.

True, lot of mid year changes in 71. Door mirror (Durant or small flag), Fuchs (deep six or flat six) sheet metal chassis stampings etc. were changing as well.

I think it's a running change for 71. I just looked at an all original 71S over the last weekend and it has the metal box same as the 70. It was a 12/70 build.

All of this talk about MFI reminded me that I'm missing the air cleaner box on my newly purchased '72 2.4T project. Would anyone have one they are willing to part with? Only need the plastic air cleaner box and short snout; system is complete otherwise... Thanks!

Indeed this seems to be true for my 1971 911S. I have the plastic box with the plastic snout but the fuel lines are missing. I can always re-make the lines. Bobby, what are the lines made out of? Metal or rubber hose? I do see the tabs inside the airbox that hold the fuel line. Do you have any pictures of the inside? Would like to see the shape/ style of the cold start fuel lines. I will PM you my e-mail.
