WTB - 17" Wheels for '87 Carrera

I'm looking to replace the 15" Fuchs on my '87 Carrera. I'm really not sure what I want , and I'm having a hard time justifying the $$$ for a brand new set of something (Fikse, HRE, 17" custom fuchs, etc.).

I just thought I'd ask here first to see if there is anything used sitting in a garage somewhere. Like I said, I'm not sure what I want, but I'm pretty sure I'd like a 17" wheel, and would prefer not to use spacers. 7" wide for fronts, 9" wide for rears. I'm also open to 16" Fuchs (7"- 9"), but they seem hard to come by these days.

So if you have some 17" wheels that will fit my '87, let's see 'em.

Thanks.

Josh, I have these BBS/Fuchs that I will be selling in a few weeks. They are 8's and 9's and fit my '87. Let me know if you are interested.

Cheers, James

Josh,

Check out this topic:

ROH Wheels

I still have mine if you're interested.

They actually look pretty good without the centercaps as well. I have a picture at home that i'll post with Fuchs on the front and the ROH on the rear.

James,

I've sent you an email re: your BBS/fuchs. If it doesn't work out with Josh, I need them.

Thanks,
Cabrach

Thanks Kevin. Those are nice wheels, and I have been thinking about trying some ROH's. I'm hoping things work out with James with the BBS/Fuchs, but if it doesn't, I'll let you know (assuming Jerry didn't pick them up from you by then).

James...sent you a PM.

I checked out the Group A website http://www.groupawheels.com/package_zr6porsch.html
and noted they have a special on the ZR6 in 17", $900 for 4 wheels WITH RUBBER. I might choose a different size than the 205 fronts, but that is a deal. Following is a pic of my car with ZR6s.
Regards,
Joe

Josh,

I've got these 7x9 Cup IIs on my car now, but new wheels are on the way. Center caps are included. Michelin Pilots are great tires, fronts are 50% +, rears will need replacing within 5,000 miles I am guessing.

Let me know if you are interested and I will snap some close-ups.

Shaun, If he falls through, I'd like to see some pics. Are they 17x9 all the way around, or 17x7 and 17x9? Send reply, pics and asking price to shirji@cfl.rr.com. Thanks
Aly

On the ROH wheels, I sent an email, and got the following reply:
************************************************** *****
CRAIG----THE PACKAGE DEAL ON THE WEB SITE IS FOR HIGH OFFSET PORSCHES(1986 & NEWER)----YOR CAR IS A LOW OFFSET CAR .
I STILL CAN DO A PACKAGE FOR YOU ON THE ZR6 WHEELS BUT IT WILL INVOLVE TWO REAR BILLET ADAPTERS
**************************************************
Mine is an '84 - I thought the offset was the same from SC's thru '89 Carreras???

Dunno what the "high offset" comment means.

Maybe the respondent at Group A somehow got the impression that the inquiry about wheels is for a 944/951? That's the only Porsche car that I can think of which has a wheel offset change from 86 to 87. Namely the 944 Turbo with +23.3mm offset wheels in '86 that became +52mm offset wheels in '87 when the car was then equipped with ABS.

A930, you know this car? I drove it from Richmond, VA May 2008. Fun car. Modified just the way I like it. Rarely can you find a car like that. Thanks.
