Kokeln Turbo for 930 (new)

Selling a brand new, never used Kokeln 930 turbo. I don't know much about this turbo but the Kokeln website says it is a bolt in.

850 plus shipping should be a good deal for someone!

Jeff,

You might check with Vision Motorsports and see if they can help you identify which one it is.

They made different HP level turbos, made some changes through the years, and had a ball bearing option. In all they were a great upgrade that was truly bolt on for a 930 and had more efficient hot and cold wheels than any of the factory K27's.

It might help to measure the compressor inducer and turbine exducer sizes if nothing else.

It is a safe bet it is a better option than a K27-7200, easer to install in a 930, and a lot less than a new 7200.

It probably requires a custom oil supply line that restricted oil presser at higher rpms.

Can this turbo be installed with out pulling the motor. Apparently, changing the stock oil supply line requires dropping the motor. So changing to the Kokeln supply line for this turbo my require the same.

Good luck with that.

I don't think Kokeln exists as a real company anymore. i sent emails and left voice mails about buying one of their 930 intercoolers six months ago and got no response. They do have some chicky-babe answering service that is available for a couple hours a day. I don't remember what time the answering service is available, but its not 24 hours or even all day. I think its available mid mourning for a couple hours.

Don't expect much....

Kokeln seems to have changed to Vision Motorsports.
Orange County Porsche Service - Vision Motorsports - Welcome

I talked with them yesterday on the identification of this turbo and they did provide much help. They did not know if it has ball bearings, or even what year it was.

My guess is it is a low probability it is a ball bearing as it is a 930 direct fit turbo and they discouraged ball bearing systems on CIS cars back then.

For an oil restricter see here: TurboKraft : Catalog Home : Garrett Turbocharger Oil Restrictor Fitting [930 107 125 TK] - $18.00

If someone is going to call Vission it would be good to have the size of the cold side intake just in front of the wheel and the hot side just at the exit of the wheel. With that one could probably identify the cold inducer and hot exducer.

Me, at that price I would just buy it. It will most likly be better than a K27-7200. IMO.

PS:

With that turbo one could easly send it in to Turbonetis (they built them for Vission) and have larger wheels installed if one wanted and so so a lot easyer than on a K27.

Oil supply line is stainless braid and was on the car when purchased, suppose it came with the turbo.

The stock oil supply line is rubber with swaged steel ends. The nuts and bolts part of this swap is OK, but the oil line may be an issue.
