Question

David: Are these not missing the second locking nut on both struts? Do you still have any of the coils for them? If so what rate,
Thanks

I have the locking nuts if needed and will include them with the struts.. I don’t have any coils or upper hats. I purchased these from Air Cooled Classics as a package with some other parts. I already have a set of RSR struts for my track car project so I don’t need these.

Thanks for the interest!

David,

I have a customer ....but looking from the age of the strut housings
they will need to have the shock bearing housing bushing replaced.
Would you accept a $750.00 Including Shipping to California?

Steve
RedlineRay@aol.com

PS: Cost on a new set is $1,056.00

I also have a customer. Have the spindles been raised by 19mm?

These Struts appear to be the VS 1453L / vs 1453R and should
be raised 10mm. Can you take a picture from the side so I can
see if they have any damage?

Thanks for the interest. I will measure the distance from the bottom of the strut to the underside of the spindle and post tomorrow. However, I don’t have a set of stock struts handy to compare.

I thought the standard spindle rise was 19 mm; I am surprised there was a 10 mm version that seems a lot of work for a small amount "drop".

Thanks for the offer Steve, but I can't do $750. I would consider $825 plus shipping and PayPal (ck is fine). I would be interested in your source at $1080, the last set I got was $1250 about a year ago and with the weak $$ I would expect more now, but I have not priced them.

I will take some side pics. FYI, all the threads are good.

Regards, David

David,

Measure the spindle hieght by using a straight edge at the base of the strut to
the spindle. This is done from the back side of the strut assembly. A stock bilstein
strut housing will measure 81mm. Your struts look like RSR bilstein strut housings
and should measure 91mm and these can be used with 15" Fuchs Alloys. Spindles
raised over 17mm will not allow the fit of the 15" Fuchs Alloy. Any bilstein struts
that have been used for track use over 2 seasons develop play at the bilstein
strut bearings where the shock insert is located. Your struts look to be more than
a few years old. The cost of replacing the teflon coated strut bearings is about
$200.00. Since I can not put your struts on my jig can you take some additional
pictures from the side of both struts to see if there is any obvious track damage?

I will talk to my customer about your offer.

See new post "Pair RSR Struts extra pics" for details of struts. I could not see a way to add pics to the exsisting post.
