FS early Batwing Horns and 68 / 69 Three Bar Deck Lid Grill
In my quest to clean out a few things I am putting up for offer a few more items:
First is an early Batwing horn. Although not in its original configuration with the embossed Porsche crest horn button, this one is in excellent condition and pretty cool if you ask me. The center is real leather as sports an authentic orange bar hood badge from a 356 hood handle. Nice patina to the badge itself and sure to look great on your longhood if you are not a die hard for originality. Priced at $300 shipped in the CONUSA. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Next up is a later model Batwing in original condition. Not perfect by any means, but still very presentable. Priced at $100 shipped in the CONUSA. ![]() ![]() ![]() Last is a relatively hard to find deck lid grill. This three bar grill was used on 68 and 69 models and since only used for this short period of time, often difficult to find. This one came off of my 68 and is in pretty good shape as shown in the pictures. If someone took the time to massage the bars a bit, it could straighten up nicely. Priced at $300 shipped in the CONUSA. ![]() ![]() ![]() Thank you, Craig |

Question about early Batwing
That I cannot answer for certain, but I suspect if you are using your original OEM steering wheel, it should twist on just like on earlier OEM steering wheels. If I am not mistaken, the hub portion of the steering wheel that accepts the horn pads is the same on the early model VDM steering wheels...Just my 2 cents, but you need to confirm this is accurate. When comparing the back side of the early model batwing to the later model batwing that I have for sale, they appear to be configured the same way.

The older pad will twist into position on a newer (69-74) steering wheel but it is not going to actually fit the wheel correctly as the newer wheels are deeper dished. The outer edges of the pad will not fit correctly. The older pads will (only if you want it to work and fit properly) only work with the '65-68 wheels.

Early batwing
If anyone is interested in the early batwing without the black leather pad and Porsche 356 hood crest, I would sell just the batwing frame for $225. I know if you are doing a restoration, you might be more interested in putting the batwing back to original. Thanks, Craig
