Solid, fresh 2.7L engine longblock, upgrades setup for carbs
A bit of a franken motor, built for a '71 RS Clone street/auto-x & occasional DE purposes. The engine started on the original '71T 911/07 mag case, which had been opened up to accept 90mm cyls. About 6 months after I had it fully rebuilt, the case developed a crack. Had to re-case the engine. Found a solid 7R case from a '76 type 911/82 s/n 6462181 to rebuild the bottom end again. Case sent to Ollies for all the oiling mods, timeserts and shuffle pinning, rebored crank journals and new bearings. Engine was run in my RS clone for a couple years (until I built a bigger motor for it) and then in my '67 while I was rebuilding its 2.0L. It has been on an engine stand for a couple years now, turned over by hand monthly. Mileage is approximately 3,500 (these cars were not driven more than once or twice a month). Standard 911 oil seepage, rocker shafts I think. But no puddles. It is a great tractable motor in a light early car. Nice flat torque curve from 3,000 - 6,000 and will pull to 7,000 (where I set the limiter). I had lots of TTOD results in the PCA AZ autocrosses. Here are the specs as it sits:
Longblock Price: $4,500/obo plus any PP fees, plus ship/crating from Phoenix, AZ **DOES NOT INCLUDE PMOs**(but if you need them to go with this motor, I can give you a price as a combo) -2.7L 7R case from '76 non-CA car, all oiling mods, timeserts, shuffle pinned ($1500 in machine work) -70.4mm crankshaft from a 2.7L -90mm RS 8.5:1 P/Cs refreshed with new rings when rebuilt -Heads are '71T 2.2L heads, ported intake to 36mm, exhaust ports stock 32mm, heads were rebuilt including new exhaust valves, valve guides, OEM stock springs. -Webcam 104/102 (similar to Solex grind I am told, between E and S) -intake manifolds 40/36 to match intake ports for 40mm webers/pmos -ARP rod bolts, new chains, bearings, etc when rebuilt. -aluminum upper valve covers, turbo lower valve covers -flywheel, stock '71 2.2L -Working Distributor (although it would benefit from a recurve) -(does not include engine oil cooler/alternator/fan/fan shroud/clutch/press. plate/exhaust/muffler) Available separately if you are interested in the motor, -1 1/2" bursch style headers $250.00 -fan/fan housing/alternator - $450.00 (yes, I painted it red...not a MM deal) -fan shroud $200.00 -I may have an engine oil cooler to go with it, but it is for the later S-hose not the early car thread on style coolers. I will check. Link to how great this motor sounds with M&K 2in 2out at a local event: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0Zt1BciH6Y&feature=youtu.be Paperwork from initial rebuild ![]() ![]() ![]()
