WTB - Key for 935 boost gauge

Does anyone have a 935 style boost gauge key they're willing to sell? Or even a copy of a real one. I'm not even sure what one looks like... even a picture of one would be helpful. Thanks, Doug

I made one out of a tire valve removal tool. The kind that doubles as a cap. You can bend the prongs in the work the center triangle shaped part of your reset needle. I have the factory one somewhere now. I found it under the carpets when i disassembled the car.

Thanks, that looks pretty good. I may try to find a valve stem wrench like that and make my own too. Is that similar to an original?

Take an aluminum pop rivet. Put it in the drill's chuck. Tighten the chuck. Voila. A three sided key that fits over the VDO needle shaft.

I too need the exact same thing. I like the idea about the rivet in a drill chuck, I think i'll try that first.

I've looked on the NHS website several times but I haven't been able to find any information there relative to the repo key. Maybe I'll just have to call them.

IIRC, the key was $4 or $5, and looked like the one posted.

Thanks for the info Bryan. And thanks for the offer brujo65, but I think I'll continue to look for an original or either make one like IMR-Merlin did. I actually like that design. Through all this I learned that my reset clutch was loose so I need to address that as well. There's no end to what you can pick up on this forum....thanks all

key

here is a crappy photo of my original key. sorry the shop was dark because of the rain.
it looks to be brass that was knurled, then swagged on a three sided mandrel then the end turned down to make it smooth, plated afterwards.

i can post measurements if someone wants to go into production on them.
