FS 3.2 engine from '85 Targa - SOLD

I am selling the 3.2 engine from my 1985 Targa. The car was totaled in an accident in January. I will be as complete as possible in the listing as I understand this is a significant purchase.

The engine was rebuilt prior to my purchasing the car in 2008. As I understand there was a complete rebuild (then over $10K) at 130,000 miles. The car now has 176,760 miles. I bought the car with around 140,000 miles. I am sorry, I have no documentation and accepted this at face value.

The car does give a puff of smoke on start up in the mornings (not always). Subsequent restarts in the day do not typically have this behavior. The engine has no leaks (and has not had any leaks other than a prior set of valve cover gaskets).

The motor always ran cool with good oil pressure on the dash. I do not have leakdown data. I can send a recent dropbox link to interested parties to see video of engine start and run.

I am selling the engine as a long block with new clutch (installed less than 1 month prior to accident), flywheel, injector rails, airbox (cracked), distributor and top engine tin. The heat exchangers are not included.

Long block $8,000.00 plus shipping (from Dallas, TX) and paypal fees.

Add $300 with alternator/generator
Add $1500 for 915 transmission. The transmission has some synchro issues from first to second but I lived with it fine.

PM with any questions.

The engine is still in the car and will take me some time to pull and crate for shipping.

After the engine is gone I will part the car in a separate thread. Nothing goes until the engine is sold.

Weekend BMP

Shaun,

Thanks for your interest. If I cant sell the two together this weekend, the 915 will be yours if you are still interested. I just wanted to see the engine gone first. Several window shoppers but no deposits to my papal yet.

Transmission sale pending to Shaun - Engine still available. I will buy a leak down tester this weekend and post the results. Price still $8K for engine. I think it is a fair price.
