Thread size on sending unit banjo?
Hi Guys,
Does anyone knows the size of the threads on the oil pressure sending banjo bolt. I know the bolt is an M12 but not sure if a 1.0 or 1.25, I want to clean the threads with a tap as is hard to get the bolt started. The car is a 1988 Carrera 3.2 Thanks, Rey |

![]() If its M12 then the thread pitch is 1.5mm. Pretty much the DIN standard for most fluid fittings used by Porsche. Len

Nope!!!!!!

Len my friend, hate to disagree with your information. I have three (3) hollow union bolts right in front of me now because you caught my attention when you said it should have 1.5 pitch. I bought a set of tap and die (12-mm x 1.0) a few months ago because my set of 12-mm x 1.5 were too coarse. The thread on the crankcase has the special fine thread. If you have a motor in your shop, remove the hollow union bolt for the oil pressure sender and verify the correct pitch. By the ignition distributor, there is also another special fitting with fine threads for the oil line. Keep us posted. Tony |

![]() Tony- Thank you for correcting this. I misspoke. The M12 fittings I am familiar with are 1.5 pitch. I know the M10 & M8 CIS fittings are 1.0 and .6 respectively. Or Not. Len ![]() PS- The CIS fittings I had made are finally at the platers. I hope to have a few for you soon. Cheers my friend. Len
