WTB: Raised Front Struts
I know this is a long shot, but if someone has some front struts that are already raised I would be interested in them. This is for an 82 so I would need the 3.5" caliper spacing IIRC.
My ideal raised height would be 32mm but I'm open to whatever. Thanks! |

wow, 32mm is really aggressive, you'd need 17's for sure, maybe 18's to clear them? pretty sure my 19mm raised spindles barely clear the 16's.

Clint at Rebel Racing recommended 32mm. I am on 17" wheels. He said 32mm is the most you could go with 16's.

I think 19mm is the most you can go with genuine 15" Fuchs. Other non-forged 15" aftermarket wheels don't often have enough clearance. The original '73 RSR's ran 15" wheels with 19mm raised (and gusseted) spindles.

The rule of thumb for spindle height is +19mm for 15" Fuchs, up to +32 for 16" Fuchs. The right custom 17" wheel will let you go to +45mm.
![]() The determining factor for spindle height is how much space is available inside the wheel and in some cases shape of the inside wheel area. For example, 15" factory Fuchs are a forged wheel and have a lager ID than a 15" Cookie Cutter, which is cast and thicker with a slightly different shape. The same holds true for Phone Dials, BBS wheels, Fikse, Champion, EuroMeister, etc. They are all a little different. There are a number of Pelican supporting shops that raise spindles and do a great job. Each will do the mod. on Bilstein struts, which is the most straight forward as the strut tube is symmetrical. Some will also raise the Koni and Boge strut spindle to +19mm. The Boge strut tube is not symmetrical. In fact it's stepped in several areas from bottom to top. That one characteristic presents a challenge and a different approach needed to raising the spindle. The good news is it can be done for cars with 16, 17 or 18" wheels.
