FS: SUPER Nice, strong running 3.0L SC Engine
SOLD_SOLD_SOLD NEW PRICE: $8750, see added photos below!
History: This engine was sourced from a 914-6 conversion and believed to be a 1981 or 1982 911SC 3.0L engine originally. The engine serial number is: 6410300 In April 2014 the previous owner had this engine installed into the 1972 911 T which is now my car. In order to facilitate this, a used CIS injection system was refreshed and installed along with a used engine wiring harness, stainless steel SSI headers, distributor, cam oil lines, fuel lines, engine oil cooler. A new alternator and fan housing, fuel accumulator, and fuel pump were also installed at this time (as described in Invoice# 16282 from Carl’s Place in Las Vegas, a well-known and respected independent Porsche repair shop). Running: The engine is strong and smooth, does not smoke, and starts extremely well both cold and hot. The only noted issues are minor oil leaks coming from the chain housings and lower valve covers as far as I can tell from the seeps and drips. The engine is extremely clean in the engine bay on the topside as seen in the photos. The engine has now been removed from the car and in my garage (taking up space!) ready to ship. The previous owner of the car installed this engine while his numbers matching 2.4L (now 2.7 L RS spec) MFI engine was being rebuilt. He used this car on weekends and never got around to having the original engine put back in. After purchasing the ’72 in June 2016 my first job is to get the numbers matching engine and transmission back into the car. Test data: Compression test results done June 28th, 2016: Cylinder 1: 157 PSI Cylinder 2: 156 PSI Cylinder 3: 167 PSI Cylinder 4: 153 PSI Cylinder 5: 155 PSI Cylinder 6: 153 PSI (as best read on the 5 psi increment scale on the tester) A Leak down test using a new OTC leakdown tester showed consistent leak downs of 1-2% using an 80 PSI air source at TDC in each cylinder I have photos of all readings and of all spark plugs which show a nice brown tan color. Note, however, that the actual mileage on this engine is unknown. Video: I also have short video clips available showing the engine running with both cold and hot starts. Please email me to request these short clips. The engine comes complete and fully assembled as it ran before I removed it from the 1972 911T. This also includes the engine wiring harness, flywheel, and SSI manifolds/headers The only parts not included at this point are the muffler and the aftermarket MSD ignition system with matching coil….I may need these for my project, not sure yet…..but if you really want them we can work something out, most likely. Price: $9250, now $8750 plus shipping and PP fees There is also a non LSD, perfectly shifting, matching 915 transmission with custom gears/RP (7:31) available (see link below), please let me know if you are interested in both and we can create a package deal. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-used-parts-sale-wanted/921354-fs-excellent-915-transmission-aluminum-case-electric-speedo-custom-gearing.html#post9194234 Email me for more info, ask questions, request more photos, or for the video clips. I can also talk to you by phone or Facetime….just send me your contact info. Thanks for looking! If my engine is as toast as I'm afraid it is, I will be interested. Have to find some time to assess the damage...

Lots of interest, but please note, I prefer to sell this excellent running engine as a complete unit.....you can always buy it, use what you need for your project and sell off any spares.
