Seat Recliner

The seat recliner locks on a 1967 Porsche 912 have a tendency to slip occasionally, leaving one to be staring at the ceiling. Usually, it just slips one notch but sometimes more. Is there a fix for this or must one pay the heavy price for a new assembly? Any suggestions? Thanks, Grant.

There is a fix I've heard. I'm not sure what it is, as I tried several times to fix mine. The auto recline feature almost killed me up on a mountain pass in Colorado. Staring at the headliner in the middle of a hairpin turn with a 100 foot drop off convinced me to take a different path.

There may be a fix for the slipping seat recliner locks on a 1967 Porsche 912. It's possible that the locking mechanism needs to be adjusted or cleaned. You may also want to consider replacing the springs in the locking mechanism. It's best to consult with a mechanic who specializes in classic cars for the most effective solution.
