Time for an update

Recently removed the front bumper guards, had the bumper repainted and finished up with all new trim. I'm liking the clean look much better.

Nice looking car Craig. I see you are located in ATL. I live in Sandy Springs. I am restoring my '68. '68 build thread on PP Not sure if you have seen it or not.

I have fitted two under the seat fire extinguisher mounts from Rennline.

It's just not worth travelling without them.

912

Gorgeous that '68. Interesting that white one, with the illuminated side reflectors. My '68 blue Targa just had those little lollipops on the side. BTW, a b&w shot of it is in Excellence (Dec 10) along with Bob Chapman's article on the '70 911E.
Good luck you had that fire under control -amazing! Rolling in Netherlands in '70, my 912 was showing a lot of gas fumes from the back, so I drove to the nearest dealer, who tightened some banjo nuts at the left carb. I was dropping gas on the exhaust and the heat was evaporating it into fumes. Talk about luck.
Two months later in Maryland I was able to put out an engine fire in a 356 with the extinguisher they make you carry in Europe. Advised the stunned owner to get rid of the chemical powder as soon as he got home, and next, buy his own extinguisher.
Still regret that my 912 started rusting so rapidly, but the combination of salt in the US, in Holland, in Germany, that was just to much even for a refreshed, double undercoat.

Thanks for the kind words. My car's paint is Krystalblau Lesonal 52254 which was a special order option in the mid 60s 356s and 912s.

Bryan, your blue looks a lot like the Gulf Oil Blue. I have never seen it on a 912 before.
Craig356, what part of Atlanta, do you live in?

Beautiful cars guys!

I used to have this 1969 912 but one night someone snuck into my house and stole my brain... I sold the car the next morning.

My '68

Mostly used for Autox events and weekend blasts. Drove it to east Texas and Colorado. Loves road trips. Been with me for almost 20 years.

My 68 Driver

All non-stock pieces are 'bolt-on' and I have retained the original pieces (in not very good shape). Front glass has its AL trim now (without in photo). Irish Green from the factory, painted by PO's: orange, red and more red; thick and chewy comes to mind. I purchased it in 1995 from the Atlanta area (Sharpsburg) drove it back to the Philly area (Downingtown) and immediately put a front suspension pan and front cross member in it (front left a-arm mount flopping in the breeze).
