Brake Caliper Restoration

I am looking for a reputable shop to rebuild my front calipers on my '68. I would like to have a professional shop go through them and weigh in on their condition.

Thank youi n advance.

Frank

Goldline did an great job on my 68's calipers. $80/caliper it's hard to beat. I had them polymer coat them which came out awesome. You can't go wrong with them, and they do a quick turnaround.

Thanks.

I called Whitpost and received a quote for $160/caliper for a lieftime job. bI was expecting less.

I will call Goldline today.

Did anyone buy pads from Goldline?

Thanks,

Frank

What I did was send them my new pads, which didn't fit well, and they fit them to the calipers as part of the rebuild. They're very good to deal with and really do a pro job. The price is great as well, if you think what a rebuild kit costs and the time involved as well as proper honing of the cylinders. My set came back like new with all new bleeders installed.

Hey Cobra-6,

I spoke with Goldline. 80/ea for the rebuild and 45/ea for the polymer coating. Did you do all four at once?

If you did not due the polymer - how did they hold up?

Yes, did all four at once. When I got the car the pistons were frozen, and black pieces of brake line rubber eventually came out of the bleeders, so they were all due. The polymer is tough stuff, brake fluid, and even hitting with a wrench when reinstalling the calipers didn't make a scratch. I did my set in red, and the really look great. I'll post a picture
