clutch brake pedal assembly

i am replacing the floors in my 68 912 and have removed the pedal assembly. since it is out and is not working properly i decided to rebuild it and install new bushings etc. well now i'm in a fix because i can't get it apart. i have removed the screw from the clutch pedal which holds the pedal to the end of the main shaft but the pedal will not budge from the shaft. i have heated it. i have redrilled the screw hole. i have frozen and then heated it and i have even tried using a 2 ton press to push it out. no luck. am i missing something?

any help would be appreciated. i cant even find a new main shaft to replace the old one if i have to cut it apart.

thanks in advance

vpm

Porsche Crest heat it up

Hello,
Assuming all the pegs have been removed, Got a friend with a torch? I did the pedal rebuild a year ago, there's a post that says butane will do the trick....maybe, but probably not, I would think you need to really heat it up. Put in the vise, use an "acetylene" torch and move the parts very slowly and carefully. I have restored ancient cars, heat normally does the trick. Sometimes a little oil while it's warm will help, be very careful.
Good Luck,
Chas.

heat

okay i will use a bigger torch. not the little propane or butane but a full fledged acetylene torch at high setting and see what happens.

thanks
