Thank for the diagram Bill, that looks like it could work for me!

Thanks also Otto and Jaems - I think I have that one sorted now and off out now to connect those wires up. I really appreciate your help, I wouldn't have got this far without it!

I'm sure I'll be back with more questions soon!

Thanks

Andrew

Thanks for all your help so far. We're making (very) slow progress with it! I have another question if you don't mind... I have a red and black wire hanging freely under the dashboard. It is joined with a connector block and then feeds under the dash. Using the wiring diagram, I have traced it back and believe it connects to the wiper motor, but I can't see where it would connect. Have I got this wrong? If you could confirm if you think I am right and can tell/show me where it connects, that would be fantastic! Many thanks in advance

These go to my cigarette lighter in my 67

Do you have a link for an 83?
JJ

From 74 on they use what the can a flow chart for their wiring diagram. It is a continuous run on page after page. Once you find what you are looking for, you just follow it page after page.

The one I did for a 74 911S. I just fitted the pages together and rolled it up. in a wiring diagram like the 912, the newer cars just became more complicated to follow. So they use a flow chart.

JJ, Jaems,

Perhaps good to mention, the diagrams are accompanied by a parts. Each part is followed by one or more numbers referring to the numbers in the bottom of the diagram. For numbers (at wire ends) in the diagram the reference system is the same. The bottom line equals ground.

So, with an electrical problem with the heaterblower circuit, take a look in the list and look for the number following "Heater blower motor", which is "20". Above number "20"in the diagram you will find the symbol for heater blower motor.

As Jaems mentioned, it's reccommended to put the pages together. Unnecessary to mention is to print the diagram in color.

Otto

Thanks, I have the Bentley pages but was hoping for a nice one piece in color.

eBay got some but not the 83.

Anyhow by the time I'm done with the car, I need to do my own wiring diagram.

This is what my ECU wiring look like

JJ'

You might check on the 911 and 911SC forums. They would have more information on your 83 SC. Our knowledge mainly deals with the simple early 912 cars over here.
