Wouldn't it be cool ...
to have an engineer who worked on the 914 here on this BBS and be able to ask him questions? A December 1969 Road & Track "Technical Analysis" article about the 914 talks about "Porsche engineers Bott and Piech". I wonder if that's Ferdinand Piech who, up until fairly recently, was the head of VW. Maybe somebody could hack VW's web site and get Piech's email address and then we could ask him.

From what I just read Ferdinand Piech took the wheel at VW in '93.
His Father, that used to run it, would probably be the one to answer our questions. Yes, I agree, it would be really cool to have a maker of our cars answering questions. Ferdinand is the one responsible for bringing VW out of their slump with the revival of the new Bug along with the Pasat and other VW sedans. http://www.businessweek.com/1999/02/b3611034.htm bruce
