Dashcaps
Can't call my fix-up, paint-up, shine-up complete without fixing the dashboard which, like most, is full of cracks.
What's the good word on the "Dashcap" product (the snap-on/glue-on dash cover that comes in black or "17 factory original colors". Anyone have a few years experience under the belt with one of these? Or anyone want to give me a replacement dash for cheap? Motor on! |

I have used one, looks cheap. Ended up buying a carpet cover. Cheap compared to the $500 for a new dash....just my opinion.

Ive got one, put on by a P.O. maybe 8 years ago. Looks O.K. after the Fla. sun, I don't think it looks too bad. Probably like most things, it depends on how careful you install it.
Just my $.02, your local exchange rate may vary. |

I have one about 7 months old. I had to do a little trimming at the ends to make it fit the cornerposts. Doesn't look like the original but I'm not going for concours, just "nice". And it beats the socks off looking at the big cracks in the original. An upholstry shop had previously installed one on a 77 Monte Carlo and it was still in new condition after several years when I sold the car.
