Rubber High Pressure Fuel Lines
Can the rubber high pressure fuel lines be used through the tunnel instead of a metal one?

It's not recommended. There's no good way to check them for leaks, and there are things that they can rub on in the tunnel. The rubber hoses also take up more room than metal lines do, and routing them isn't as easy because they tend to bend when you push on them. Finally, rubber lines should be replaced on a fairly regular basis--possibly as often as every other year--and metal lines last decades.
Do you want to do the job twice in the next few years? Get the Tangerine stainless lines (or equivalent). Those will probably outlast the rest of the car. --DD

Please replace your lines with the Tangerine Racing SS fuel line kit- it is the best solution for our cars.

I have known people to use brake lines of the appropriate diameter, one guy talked about using nylon like the original ones. Rubber is just a bad idea

Just completed the stainless tunnel fuel line install last night. Definitely a challenge for one person, two would have made it much easier.
One tip I would make for the install, work the lines from the rear starting with the larger supply line. As you work the line forward push the line as far to the right side of the tunnel as possible. When the line bottomed on the frunk bulkhead I was able to grab it and pull it through with long needle nose pliers. The smaller return line routes inboard of the supply line the same way. Easy to get the lines fouled with wiring, shifter, brake lines etc. advisable for someone in the cabin pushing the lines as far to the passenger side as possible. Not a particularly difficult job, took a couple hours
