A cationary Tale!

This was posted on the 911 board - It's about an M3, but the scenario could have been any vehicle.

*WOW* everybody check your car! especially if it was bought on E-bay!................sorry didn't mean to panic!!!!!!!!!!

Almost had my own version of that story to tell, my first attempt at a 914 purchase way back in the late '70's. Bailed at the last second when the state inspection was just a little to fishy.

It's that old "gotta have it" trance, just as dangerous to rational thought as sex, drugs, or excessive cell phone use. Too bad about the Bimmer guy; maybe he could sue Starbucks for caffeine impaired judgement or something.

Wow......Florida sounds like a horrible place!!!! I think I'll stick to the beautiful NC coast.

I thought that guy was a dufus. First, how hard can it be to find a 12 year old car that he has to fly to Florida? Second, he didn't even do a Carfax before he left Oregon. Third, he saw danger signs at every step of the way and repeatedly said that he'd have to get the car painted.

I must admit... there are still a few dumb $hits left here in Orygun! With all the red flags not heeded this guy deserves what he gets. I say we send his name in for a "Darwin" award!

You have to die to be a finalist

A fool and his money are my best friends :)

I read THE WHOLE THING and I coulda sworn I was reading the script for Jackass II: I Want an M3!.

I'm suppose to feel sorry for someone who ignored all manner of COMMON #$%& SENSE!, just for the sake of owning an M3? What, are all BMW fans this far gone? I mean, have $10K worth of Dead Presidents lost that much value that you would risk them on a deal like THIS? I re-read it and start chuckling all over again.

Heck, I'm with sammyg2 on this one ...

cough cough (dumbass) cough.....seems like all he wanted to do was keep the car, at what point do you say to hell with the car and start harrassing the guy that sold it to him. I'd set up camp in his front yard, but hell I wouldn't get that far. First thing I look at is door and fender alignment....

Biggy72 06-23-2003 08:40 PM

so when's he gonna realize he doesn't know as much as he thinks he does?

M. Hendrix 06-23-2003 09:48 PM

He'll never know.
