Throttle return spring?

Is there a throttle return spring on an L-jet set-up? If so I assume it attaches to the top lever arm on the throttle body, but where does the other end hook to?

Mine was hooked up to the rear engine tin. You can see it in this picture. There's a small hole in the top.

Yup, that's exactly where mine was hooked.

Thanks, I will hook one up.

On the L-jet there is a second lever arm above the one the throttle cable pulls anyone know what this is for?

There should be a second return spring wrapped around the shaft between the two.

could you guys give me an idea of what the 2.0 spring set up is supposed to look like. I have a spring around the shaft, but just put one from the shaft to a piece of the airbox and my car idles much better. Not shure whats right.

The early 73 2.0s had a simple throttle body bellcrank. It was a solid piece of metal. A coil spring hooked to one end (the one that the throttle cable end does not hook to) of this, and the other end of the coil spring hooked to a hole in the bracket that the end of the throttle cable sheath hooks up to.

Mid-73 and on have the "supplemental return spring" setup. The supplemental spring is wrapped around the throttle shaft, and the throttle bellcrank is actually two pieces that the supplemental spring pushes against each other. There is still a coil spring that hooks to one part of the bellcrank and to the bracket for the throttle cable sheath.

Thanks dave. I had been putting around with out the suplemantal spring to the cable holder. I put one on last night as an experiment, and now my TB closes all of the way it seems. No mo high RPM idle, to low RPM idle.
