Hey!
Trying to find a supplier or at least part no. for a gasket which goes in a cover plate which attachs to the S-tube in the heater circuit on a '74 2.0. Is anyone familiar with it and does anyone know where to buy? Thanks! Mike

branch clamp gasket 021.256.326A and 021.256.325A
found on the dreaded Dr's web site. why not try cutting some out of gasket material?

a small bead of rtv should work fine. just let it cure over night before firing things up.

Whoa, I didn't know there was a gasket there??!! Our 1974 has been running for years without them and seems to have little affect? I agree with the small bead of sealer. Good luck.

I cut a replacement out of cork. Unless you live in Greenland, I don't think you would ever notice/need that extra bit of seal to prevent heat loss. The greater benefit would be the elimination of one more rattle from under the car. I think they all blend together to form one harmonious 'bzzzzz'.

keeps out moisture and oil/grime issues. every sealed fixture helps out with heat. ours heaters should melt vinyl records with a maintained system. also look at the paper tubes behind the speaker enclosures. ever notice bits of paper comming out of the vents when the bellows/valves have been closed for a while?
