Someone rate this thread badly... please.
I rated it as 'poor', then I think hargray2 probably rated it 'excellent'.. This thread sucks, we all know it.. why lie? M (vote 'poor') |
Here's part of the project I'm working on right now,
Rotor out of an axial air compressor, output is around 140,000 SCFM at 65 psig. That's a lot of air. It has a 9200 hp electric motor coupled to one end, and a 16,600 hp gas expander coupled to the other end. Basically a compressor section of a jet engine, but this one has to run 24 hours a day for 10 years without shutting down for any maintenance. BTW, that's about $750,000 worth in that picture. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1074224567.jpg |
Wow! a Mega-E-RAM!
;) |
Any lag?
|
how big is the 9000 hp electric motor? do they make a 901 adapter?
|
lol
|
"...tire tracks all across your back, can see youve had your fun, the signal turns from green to red, theres a traffic jam ahead..."
Jimi Hendrix- crosstown traffic |

in a gadda da vida ...... did i mention that my 914 is on jackstands?
|
The electric motor weighs around 14 tons so the 914 conversion is out unless you do a little structutal work :)
It is rated at 12000 volts, 394 amps, and takes 18 seconds to get to full speed. It has a service factor of 1.15 so theoretically we can draw over 10,000 hp out of it. I hate working nights. |
I completely disagree. There is a lot of shifting to do, but there is almost always a couple unique things found in separate "repeated" threads. At the risk of things getting beaten to death, I prefer to get all the information possible.
