Mechanical Fuel Injection II

Thank you JP, Marc and Wayne for your responses. I should have mentioned previously that the car is not an orginal 914-6, thus no hand throttle. Based on the the smog test that I attempted to get, I probably am running to rich. Does anyone know how to adjust this mechanical fuel injection setup. I am still just trying to figure out how to adjust the idle. I am very mechanical inclined but my knowledge is with american muscle cars. This is my first venture into Euro powerplants.

On the passenger side throttle body, there is a little microswitch. The switch is situated such that when the linkage is at idle, a screw can be adjusted to actuate it. I have not adjusted the screw to actuate it, however when the car was cold and barely running, I did press down on the switch with a screwdriver and nothing happened.

I would just appreciate someone telling me where I could get a book/manual that would answer all or most of my questions. Any ideas? Thank you everyone for your responses.

Hi there. I don't know too much about the Mechanical Fuel Injection system used on the 2.4s, but I do recommend that you pick up the Haynes 911 manual. This would give you a good start on finding out about the injection system. We currently have these manuals on sale for $15 each! Email me (by clicking on the little envelope icon above this message) if you are interested in ordering a copy (we have a bunch in stock).

Thanks,

Wayne
