1.7 or 2.0??

hey everyone,

i bought a 73 last fall at an auction and i don't have any history on the car. i'm trying to sell it and i need to figure out if it has a 1.7 or a 2.0 in it. how can you tell the difference? are there any visible signs to look for?

Also, the spark plug holes in the engine tin are on the vertical side part of the tin. Spark plug holes for all other engines (1.7, 1.8, Bus 2.0) are on the horizontal top surface of the engine tin.

If it has FI does the TB sit on top(2.0) or on the side (1.7)

If you're in Rock Island, you're about 90 minutes away from one of the best 914 people out there. Brad Mayeur of 914 Limited is in East Peoria. He's been working on these cars since they were new, and really knows them. 309-694-1797

If it's slow, that just means it's not a six conversion

Got you good...

Hey 24flys , why not keep it and make the wife mad?! That's the "in" thing to do around here.

My $.02 (the 2 I'm not using on my engine build)
