name that part!

Hello family,

The targa top slips into the rubber piece on the upper part of the front windshield assembly.

What the heck is the correct name for that piece and how hard is it to replace?

Well, there are more like two pieces. The upper one is the "Targa Top Front Seal" ('R' in our catalog, link here). It's not that hard to replace--you have to stretch the center section to fit across the top of the windshield frame, and hook the corners onto the metal tabs at the corner of the frame. Then you work on each side piece. There are two lips on the side pieces, and they go into a channel on the body. You can try sliding them down into the channel (I wrote up that procedure in a Tech Article a while back), but it is actually easier to set one lip into the channel and then use a screwdriver or similar tool to push the other lip into the other part of the channel.

Not hard at all...
