console
I am installing a console in my car. I have the console and guages and have the wires that went to them . My car did have console and did not have the connection for a console in the wiring in the center of the car. My question does anybody have any directions for wiring this in .
Thanks |

Here: 914/4 Tech Notebook
Scroll about 4/5 of the way down the page until you get to the "Electrical" section. You will see four diagrams for the center console gauges. You say your car had a console. Did it have gauges, or was it the earlier "center deposit" style? If it had gauges, were they wired up at all? If they weren't wired before, you will need to find wires that carry the appropriate power/signal/ground. The wiring diagrams are your friend there. You'll find them in the Haynes manual, and you can probably find PDFs of them if you hunt around on line. --DD

guages
guages had the wires attatch to them, infact I bought them from a car in the wrecking yard that was junked out and I cut the wire to the guages back past the the connections for the guages including the wires past the connection

there is a console wiring schematic available. The main harness had the connections for the 73-76 models whether the console was installed or not.
