That car is scary fast! It's also strange to have the gear shift pattern in the "regular" configuration as opposed to the "dogleg" first gear (down and left) that most 914s have.

Did you buy it from Tobias, or had it gone to a new owner before you?

I remember Tobias buying it as a ... I think a three-liter, which ate itself pretty shortly. He figured he could spend a bunch of money getting it back to where it had been, which was OK but not great, or he could spend a WHOLE LOT of money and have a result which was spectacular. He obviously chose the latter.

It's a cool car, hopefully you have places to enjoy it properly! It still intimidates me!

Hi Dave

I actually bought it in Norway from the guy that imported it. I think the prototype of the Wevo shifter was developed using this car. I just drove it a bit before I parked it. It needs some handbrake job + some other stuff done. I have been working on my 911 some years, so I have not had the time before now to start looking at it. It has a 964 3,6 liter now, and it is fast. Not 100% sure if I will keep it for a long time, but let's see

Here are a few fresh ones of my car - I've had this one 20 years now and am refreshing various things again after 15 years of frequent track abuse.

At the PCA unStock show in Burbank -

What a beautiful car.
Love the sneaky flares.
The car that started my 914 love affair was an Irish green 914 6 with very similar
flares ......hand formed ....to suit big tires and a very heathy engine.

Thanks a bunch! Good eye on the flares - they are hand formed original fenders pulled out about 2.5" in the rear, done by Tangerine Racing back east. The bumpers, lids and targa top are all lightweight f/g and the car is right around 2,000lbs wet. On the track I normally run 8/9's. Here it sits on 15x8's all around for street/show.

I love the Tangerine flares- maintaining the stock looking wheel well lip is critical for the right look; your car looks perfect Chris.

With all these pics of nice cars, I figured it was time for the ratty cars to get some representation!

Needing some paint is far from "ratty" Chris. I really am looking forward to seeing some color on that beauty. Michael

OK then, here's a little better shot of the wheels, dirty though they may be. Hey, I told you it was ratty! Ronal R9, 16x8 w/225 16x9 w/245.

Went to a Cars and Coffee Folsom yesterday. I was totally blown away by the number of cars- probably 150-plus. Everything from Bugs to Bentleys. Weather was nice and the people were great. They apparently meet every 3rd, 4th and if there is a 5th Saturday, rain or shine, 0700-0930. It is held at The Palladio Shopping Center at 430 Palladio Parkway in Folsom. On the 1st and 2nd Saturdays of the month, they are at 2101 Vine Street in EDH Town Center. There is a Starbucks in the shopping center.
