Anyone pulled their Smog stuff off '75914 2.0??

I've got a 1975 2.0 L with the smog feature (anti smog I would guess??). Is there any downside to just removing these components? I live in Michigan where we don't have emission testing like some states. I'd appreciate any feedback from those with experience.

I removed mine 2 years ago, no problems. Cleans up the engine bay nicely.
