I'm pretty sure its the same as for an earlier 911 with the 901 transmission.

The 911 kits works for the pre 1972 914, but the 1973 and later 914 kits are different. I have also heard that the short shift kit for the 914 is not a good idea unless your shifting is good and positive to begin with. If you have a sloppy shifter now it will be amplified w/ shorter throws. If I were to install a short shifter I would also replace all the shift bushings! Good luck.

Here is my problems.
901 shifter, box, linkage, etc. into a beetle. Having shifting problems, too much travel in the shifter w/ the longer linkage I built. I want to try the 911 901 short shift kit to see if it helps. If it doesn't I want to move it to my 76 914. It sounds impossible since the 914 73+ you stated uses a different short shift kit? Steve |
