Are they all 1-4-3-2 ?
I was helping a friend replace his plugs, wires, cap and rotor a few days ago. I put the wires on the cap in 1-4-3-2 order, which I thought was the firing order for all 914-4's. We test fired it in the garage and it seemed to run fine, but after I had left and he went to fire it up, he said it wouldn't run right. Eventually, he says, he switched the wires to 1-3-4-2 and it ran normally again. Does this make sense? I am trying to figure out what I'm missing here....
Thanks,

1-4-3-2 is correct.
Make sure the dizzy drive shaft wasn't put in 180 degrees off. DAPO tend to do things like that. Took me weeks to figure that one out ... Andy

Thanks.
That had occurred to me, though I can't imagine how an engine would even run when 180 deg. off of an incorrect firing order. I guess more investigation is called for.
