Had the turbo setup from my bug. The motor all together, with the turbo, and fuel injection, I probably spent 4k, but I built the motor myself, did the heads myself.

I can see a couple of bennies from moving to T-1 vs T-4:

Parts are cheap and available (Look for T-4 main bearings right now)
Lighter?

I don't think the T-1 is a better case than a T-4 though. I could almost see someone finding a T-3 1600cc and tossing into a 914 to build a super mileage 914? But even then, the T-4 1700cc is small enough to probably achieve the same mpg as any T-1 1600cc?

Question on that radiator

I'm sorry you had to sell your project.
Could you tell me what type of radiator you have there. The dimensions look like they may be perfect for a vw bus water cooled project i'm working on.
