David Said-Triad Exhaust - passed away

I just heard that David Said the builder of Triad exhausts and Mr Autocross in the NW passed away on April 23rd. David was a great guy and was a real 914 man. The first time I met him, he showed me his stash of 20 914's in his backyard! David was great for helping anyone with parts even locating them if he didn't. He Autoxed for years with his red 914 ( what a awesome car he built). David also is the one who got me into Autoxing, showing me and my son the ropes, thanks Dave!
I met the new owner of Triad, Dave Ellison who will be building the exhaust systems recently.
The NW will miss David alot!

I met Mr. Said only once.
He seemed a nice fella and was a 914 wonk of the highest order.
I tried to contact him a month or so ago and got back email form his wife saying that he was in poor health and had turned over his muffler business to Mr Ellison. Us old guys don't like to hear them words.....but I hoped for the best.

Now, THAT is sad. Damn ...

I just got my 914 down off the jacks this past weekend (after a winter's worth of parts & upgrades), if only because I was so anxious to see what it sounded like with its new Triad exhaust. In a word: awesome.

I still have a bunch of other stuff I want to finish, but I never got a chance to call and tell him how good it sounds. That's OK; I'm sure he heard me rapping the throttle!
