Carpet Kit??? 1973 2.0 914 L96D Silver
Hi. I have a clean 73 Silver 914 2.0 and want to keep as original as possible (within reason). What is the correct carpet kit for this model? Square, Loop etc? And what is the best source for these? I am also interested in seeing what you have done with your carpet kits as I am sure there are some nice upgrades that may tempt me to not keep this piece original. I have black interior. What looks good with the SILVER L96D? If you ahve some pictures of yours, please post... Thanks.

I think Perlon would have been original. I'm sure you can find it here at PP or any other supplier.

Perlon huh? What are your opinions on that fabric? It seems cheap to me but I am no expert and have found very little regarding it. Other than the difference between USA and German made stuff,,,

Charcoal gray perlon is the correct carpet. It was cheap but that was the point. Porsche didn't want the 914 to be as nice as the 911. Not one to care about being too original, I bought a square weave carpet kit from a 914world vendor. You could also go with a plush kit similar to what was put in the 916s.

Looks like I will be going with a Charcoal Square Weave carpet kit when I do upgrade. It is great quality although not inexpensive...
