fuel pump wiring, L-Jet

I just put a 2.0 with L-Jet in my '72; the fuel pump was wired for
D-Jet, working off the relay board relays. Apparently the L-Jet
wiring is different. Any ideas on how to connect the fuel pump
to the proper wiring on the L-Jet? Thanks in advance for the
assistance.

well lets see firt do you have the double relay for the l jet

if not you can put a ground to one of the 4 pins on the relay board ( drivers side front ) and the fuel pump will work with the key... not the best way but it works

the right way is to connect the wires in the airflow sensor ( check the haynes for correct pins ) to the double relay and the fuel pump to that, the relay pack has one relay that gets its power from the coil and its ground from the ground under the relay board, then the relay for the fuel pump gets its power from the other relay and its feed goes through the airflow sensor and also gets it ground from under the relay board ( same wire as power relay ) now there is a big red wire that feeds into the double relay fuel pump relay to the feul pump, you can pop off the cover and push the relay for the fuel pump to check to make sure the pump and the wiring is ok after that there is some tracing to do

hope this helps if not feel free to email i have a l jet that i am
pretty good at

Almost plug 'n play

You can save yourself a lot of trouble if you get the original relay and harness's. The "double relay" has two connectors on it, one is part of the L-jet wiring harness, the other is part of the vehicle harness that plugs onto the 12 pin connector at the relay board. On a '75 this is the harness that includes wiring to the starter and back-up lights, IIRC '74 was slightly different. The wiring for the L-jet fuel pump passes through the relay board but it uses the double relay in place of those on the board. You would remove the power supply and fuel pump relays from the board, plug in the correct rear harness for L-jet. You will have another wire on this harness that goes to T4(ll) on the relay board.

Do it right the first time. Wiring mistakes can be expen$ive and troubleshooting with the factory wiring will be less difficult later on.
