Front pads on rear calipers?
I've been reading some articles and some say you can use the front pads on the rear calipers of 914s. Is this possible?
I do know you can use the front calipers on the rear, but I do not want to do this at this time. Thanks for your input.

On my 75 1.8 with original calipers they are very different. I did an upgrade to 5 bolt lugs using 914 rotors and hubs that I had drilled, and then I used the original brakes. I ordered a kit to do the whole process with full bearings, seals, studs, lugs and it came with 4 very similar (Same size) brake pads. I went to put in the rears and they were too large. A quick call and I was able to get the correct smaller pads I needed.
This is only my expirience on a stock 1975 1.8. I hope it helps,

Perhaps... you are referring to moving the front calipers to the rear of the car.... Alot of people do this when they upgrade their front brakes to a larger non stock caliper.... You essentially loose the parking brake. I don't think the actual front pads will fit into the stock rear calipers.
