Engine Question
I've worked on VW Type I motors for 20 years and just tore down my first Type IV today. It was a 1.7 from a 72 914. My question is, when I removed the valve cover there was a wire under the rocker assembly that seemed to hold the push rod tubes in, Is this a normal Type IV thing or is it an aftermarket add-on.

completely normal it is a t-IV thing put it back when done
