early passenger seat

Can I retrofit the passenger seat in a 1970 with slider rails?

Yes. You'll need a welder, and a modicum of fabrication skills.

Wink

Let's see, where did I leave my "modicum". I know I put it down here someplace. When I last saw it, it was in the bottom of my toolbox!

I figured the highbrow route was better than, "You needs MaDd L33t MeTt4l hAxX0r SkIlLz, Yo!"

Take a look at the floor pan on the driver's side. Then look at the passenger's side. Now visualize making the passenger's side look just like the driver's side, but flipped left-for-right.

There's a drawing, I think on this site in the Tech Articles section, that has drawings for at least one or two of the parts that you need to fabricate and weld in.

Of course I do!! My "other car" is that perennial favorite of the "Ricer" crowd, the Honda CRX!

But does it have an oil can exhuast, that flashes, and has an external speaker for that "extra cool" engine sound.

Hey! I just thought of a great product for the ricer crowd. We Map the sound of the 911 and record it digitally onto a chip. Feed the chip RPM info and it will play the 911 Sound in the passenger compartment....

Oh, the sweet sweet sound of a tuned flat six in play....

Have someone with a "donor" car cut the two rear and front seat brackets out of their car (are you listening JAMES) and just weld the brackets back into your frame in the same position. Then you will need the seat, seat rails and backpad. Sorry, you can't mount the retractable seat belts without major fabrication.

There was a post on PP about this.

Modicum - a moderate amount - DD has been hanging out with the Dismal Beach crowd to long. I wonder how he snuck the rice popper into that crowd - probably hung a shalon kit on it (unpainted of course). His exhaust can probably says Perrier on it.

The 1971 only has one, but then, he only needs one.....

Ron, will you be going to Pomona?

when you're doing this don't for get the replacement bad pad. if the early back pad is in good shape i would hold on to it. these pieces have value, a pain to ship, but due to the short run of that style hard to find.

Nope. The drivetrain is exceedingly stock, from the intake snorkel to the exhaust tips. (Two little ones.) The CRX guys keep telling me to get rid of the snorkel at least, but I don't see the need. I can run away from them in the twisties as-is, why do I need more power??

...At least, until I slide off the road and into something solid.... Yes, I will be more careful with my "new" CRX!!! :P
