Has anyone used a 215mm Bus Clutch?

Has anyone successfully used the 215 MM VW bus Clutch disk in their 914?

Did you have your flywheel machined for clearance?

Flywheel and pressure plate are completely different. The 914 flywheel needs to mesh with the Porsche starter properly, and a bus one just won't fit right. The pressure plates I've seen for a bus will not fit the dowel pins on the 914 flywheel. The disc fits, but that seems to be about it.

Later,

G

I agree. The disk in the only VW part to work... you will only save about 20 bucks by going to the VW disc. It is however, IDENTICAL!

I would say that as long as your disc has not worn out and started to groove the pressure plate, you shouldn't even bother replaceeing it.
